Lapidary Skills Training
The GMSVP club has the equipment for you to learn a variety of lapidary techniques and many skilled members willing to share their skills. By becoming a member you have access to learning the techniques shown below. You may also further your training by attending workshops at either the William Holland Retreat located in northeast Georgia or the Wildacres Retreat near the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina.
Cabochon and Wire Wrapping
Many of our the GMSVP members assist in cabochon training. James "Bubba" Ward a long time member of the club trains members in wire wrapping techniques during Tote Shows and during our Bi-annual picnics.

Faceting
Member Chuck Rogers offers faceting training with your equipment. Chuck provides training on the operation and techniques of the faceting equipment. Skills you will learn are setting the stone, basic cuts, stone transfer, the finish cut and polishing. There are no material costs.

Silversmith Techniques

Gem Tree Workshops
Gary Bergtholdt a long time member of GMSVP is holding 2-3 hour gem tree workshops at his home. There is a small $10.00 fee to cover the cost of materials, which covers about 2-3 trees. Pebble Pups cost is free. There are two techniques that will be taught. The first is a basic tree using glue, the second more advanced tree uses all wire. In the first row of pictures below you will see 3 different basic trees. The second row of pictures contain more advanced trees.
